Envirotalk was established in November 2003 by Richard Denver and Stephen Selden. Richard and Stephen's original aim was to establish a discussion forum where people from all over Australia could discuss issues relating to the Australian environment. The hope was that Envirotalk could become a place where professional environmental workers and the general public could engage in conversation, to get a better understanding of what was and could be done to improve the Australian Environment.
Although the site started out with just a handful of volunteers moderating the forums and discussing issues, Envirotalk quickly grew to become an extremely valuable resource for professionals, university students, environmentalists and the general public. Envirotalk has become a reliable source of information about a variety of environmental topics, both simple and complex. It is now a discussion hotspot for those interested in protecting and improving the Australian Environment.
The volunteers who moderate the forums are very passionate about caring for the Australian Environment and discussing issues that could make a difference. It is because of these volunteers that Envirotalk has grown to become the largest environmental discussion forum in Australia.
Envirotalk is a not for profit organisation that has no ties to any government agency, corporation, business or environmental activist group. We believe this gives our members greater freedom to discuss any issues that relate to the Australian environment. We hope you find Envirotalk to be a friendly and enjoyable place to engage in the discussion of environmental issues and we look forward to you joining in.
